Venous Stasis Ulcers

Venous ulcers appear on the lower leg when the veins cannot return blood effectively and pressure builds in the tissue. They are typically shallow, moist, and slow to close.

Compression is the treatment that matters most, and fitting it correctly matters as much as applying it. We manage multi-layer compression alongside dressings, adjust as the leg changes, and plan for what happens after closure, because without ongoing compression these ulcers frequently return.
