Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Diabetic foot ulcers often begin at a pressure point and are not felt, because neuropathy has removed the warning. Small wounds progress quickly, and the stakes are the limb.

Care combines regular debridement, dressing selection suited to the wound bed, and offloading so the ulcer is not being reinjured with every step. We coordinate with the patient's physician on circulation and glucose control, since neither the wound nor the underlying condition improves in isolation.
